MEXICO LOCAL ENGAGEMENTS

In 2016, Rebuild by Design collaborated with the Mexico City Office of Resilience and Keystone Partners to develop a research and design approach for Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project aimed to address key challenges in climate change, water management, housing, and agricultural and tourism opportunities while preserving the cultural and ecological significance of the area.

Plaza Juan Gabriel, named in honor of Mexico’s iconic entertainer and local Juarense, Juan Gabriel, is situated in the heart of Ciudad Juárez’s downtown. The plaza serves both as a memorial to the beloved artist and as a symbol of the resilience of a city and its people who have endured significant challenges in recent decades.
