How can NYC safely and equitably adapt to life with more rain? How can NYC ensure every New Yorker has the tools and resources to prepare their home, their family, and their community if they want to move out of harm’s way? How can we empower every New Yorker to become part of the solution?
For the past six months, residents, nonprofits, government agencies, community organizations, schools, and the private sector have been working to identify answers to these questions to Rainproof NYC.
On June 25, these dedicated members of the Rainproof NYC Working Groups will share their collective recommendations to address this growing challenge for our city.
We’re excited to welcome our keynote speaker Rit Aggarwala, Commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and the City’s Chief Climate Office. We’re further excited to celebrate the great initiatives New Yorkers around the city have taken to rainproofing. Joining us for the “Rainboots on the Ground: Learning from the Frontlines” panel.
This event is co-hosted by the CUNY Climate Consortium (C3) and John Jay College. Thank you to our funders the Wells Fargo Foundation, the NorthLight Foundation and Con Edison.
