CITY TO LAUNCH ADVISORY GROUP FOR LES RESILIENCY PLAN FOLLOWING CRITICISM

Crains: Mayor Bill de Blasio will create an advisory group to answer concerns about his administration’s billion-dollar resiliency plan at East River Park.

The mayor committed to funding the board shortly before a City Council committee voted Monday to advance the East Side Coastal Resiliency Project. 

In a statement, de Blasio promised the plan would “protect New Yorkers for years to come, and at every step of the way, we will continue to ensure the community is kept informed of progress and that their voice is heard.” 

The council’s Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings and Dispositions voted 4-1 to advance a review of the plan to the council’s land-use committee Monday following the concessions from the mayor’s office. Read more>>
