An analysis from Rebuild by Design finds that nearly 1 in 4 of New Jersey’s public assets — schools, hospitals, fire stations, wastewater plants — are located in current flood zones. That number rises to more than 1 in 3 by 2050, a 55% increase, putting $435.9 billion in property value and $5.9 billion in annual tax revenue at risk.
