Operation SPLASH, Long Island

Community members from around Nassau County joined the Interboro Team for the 2nd public presentation and discussion of Living with the Bay: Resiliency Building Options for Nassau County’s South Shore, a Rebuild by Design project for Nassau County. The team invited residents to come and share your feedback and ideas to make our neighborhoods and the South Shore as a whole more resilient.

ABOUT OUR REGIONAL RESILIENCY PLAN FOR NASSAU COUNTY
Our plan consists of long-range planning strategies and shorter-term, implementable projects for communities on Nassau County’s South Shore. While the safety of residents during future extreme weather events is the main goal of these projects, each seeks to also enhance the quality of everyday life in non-emergency times.
In early April, our plan will be evaluated by a competition jury (chaired by the HUD Secretary) which will identify projects that may receive HUD disaster recovery funds to help implementation.
