To help revitalize the neglected Miami River, Trust for Public Land is working with the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, and the Miami River Commission to create the Miami River Greenway, a 10-mile greenway along the river that will improve environmental quality, promote recreation, and boost economic development in surrounding communities. The greenway will connect more than 10,000 residents with nine major parks and include flood management features through natural absorption of stormwater to reduce urban flooding while enhancing recreation opportunities.
