Building a Resilient Oakland: It Takes a Town

Working with the City of Oakland, West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, and Streetwyze, Rebuild launched “Building a Resilient Oakland: It Takes a Town,” a four-part workshop series is bringing together City leaders and local organizations to understand how the City could better engage with residents and identify and address their needs. The workshops are helping the City:

  • Discover the tools and relationships it needs to conduct better outreach.
  • Gain a better understanding of how the City can more effectively engage residents in-person and online.
  • Identify opportunities to include the community in decision-making.
  • Establish replicable frameworks for addressing various issues.

This process is part of Resilient Oakland’s strategy to create a more inclusive and collaborative government model. Oakland is a member city of 100 Resilient Cities, explore their strategy for Urban Resilience.
