Rainproofing NYC: Recommendations from the Working Groups

The Rainproof NYC Working Groups was an initiative launched by Rebuild by Design, One Architecture & Urbanism, the Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice, the NYC Mayor’s Office of Housing and Recovery Operations, and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection.

The working groups, co-facilitated and composed of NYC agency staff and community leaders, worked together from January to June 2024 to identify and recommend strategies and policies to collectively determine recommendations for how NYC can adapt to increased heavy rainfall.

Rebuild by Design compiled the information from the working groups process to produce this report.
