Each session explores localized climate impacts in New Jersey, the economic and social costs of inaction, and the latest strategies for building a more resilient future. The series is designed to engage policymakers, community leaders, and the public in conversations about climate adaptation and infrastructure funding.

Making it Rainproof: Reimagining New Jersey’s Water Infrastructure will bring together experts and advocates for a dynamic virtual discussion on the future of stormwater management in the state. The event will begin with an overview of New Jersey’s climate risks, new 2024 findings, and a look at how Rainproof NYC strategies could be adapted locally. Featured speaker Dr. Christopher Obropta of Rutgers and guest speaker/moderator Greg Remaud of NJ/NY Baykeeper will explore how nature-based solutions and green infrastructure can help build a rainproof New Jersey. They’ll share lessons learned from years of local work, identify key barriers to implementation, and highlight opportunities for scaling successful projects.

A moderated Q&A session will give attendees the chance to engage directly, followed by tools and resources to support continued action. This event is ideal for anyone interested in reimagining how we manage water, from policy and planning to on-the-ground solutions.
