The Architectural Record Innovation Conference East gathers key figures who are generating a range of creative solutions for the built environment today and into the future. This year’s conference focuses on the future of architecture and the public realm with panel discussions on After the Storm: Designing for Resilience and Designing Security for the Public Realm. There will also be sessions on The Challenges and Opportunities for Design in the New Urban Century, Private Dreams/Public Agendas, and Augmenting the Urban.
Designing for Resilience will be moderated by Joann Gonchar, Senior Editor at Architectural Record, with Amy Chester of Rebuild by Design, David Waggonner of Waggonner & Ball Architects, and Simon David of Bjarke Ingels Group. Five years after Hurricane Sandy, panelists will discuss plans for protecting Manhattan and coastal Connecticut from extreme weather, sea level rise, and storm surge.
