Rebuild By Design: Harborside Park Construction To Begin In 2023, Hoboken Says

Tap: New Jersey’s recently signed $50.6 billion fiscal budget includes $100 million for the state Department of Environment Protection’s ongoing flood mitigation project along the Hudson River, funding that Hoboken says will be used to construct a resiliency park.

Rebuild by Design, which broke ground last year, aims to protect flood prone areas, including the entire City of Hoboken, as well as parts of Weehawken and Jersey City, from storm surge flooding and rising sea-level threats posed by climate change.

In an update Tuesday, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said the $100 million provided by the state will be used for costs associated with building a resiliency park at 15th and Garden streets. Read more>>
