Join Rainproof NYC and Arup for a hands-on session to reimagine NYC into a sponge:

Arup will share insights from their Global Sponge Cities Snapshot, a study using advanced digital tools to understand the “sponginess,” or natural ability to manage heavy rainfall, of cities like NYC, London, Shanghai, and more.

Participants will join a hands-on workshop to apply these strategies to a real NYC neighborhood case study: the Jewel Streets in Brooklyn/Queens, known to residents as “The Hole.” Together, we’ll explore how to boost its “sponginess,” restore ecosystems, and build greener, healthier communities.
