BACKGROUND

To address recurrent flooding in King County, Washington, the King County Flood Control District project, managed by the King County Flood Control District with support from local and state agencies, provides a comprehensive flood protection by combining levees, floodplain restoration, and home elevation and buyouts with a strong focus on community and equity in retrofitting homes for resilience. This initiative addresses flooding and improves flood protection for communities and ecosystems.
