BACKGROUND
The Blackfeet Tribal Council created the Blackfeet Nation’s Climate Change Adaptation Plan to respond to increasing droughts, flooding, and ecosystem loss threatening Blackfeet Nation’s cultural practices. The plan is a tribal-led initiative to address climate impacts while preserving cultural practices and natural resources. This community-led adaptation prioritizes cultural preservation with an innovative focus on integrating traditional knowledge with modern climate planning.
