The Bayou Greenways 2020 is a green infrastructure initiative creating a network of parks and green spaces connected by over 150 miles of trails and 3,000 acres of greenspace along Houston’s bayous. This project, initiated by the Houston Parks Board in partnership with public and private stakeholders, will connect communities along 3,300 miles of shoreline and provide equitable access to green spaces while addressing flood management and environmental projects. This initiative exemplifies the multi-use benefits of green spaces including flood management and transportation.
