To address recurring damage to roads and bridges from intense snowstorms, heavy precipitation, and flooding, the Vermont Agency of Transportation’s Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) focuses on necessary, statewide resilience upgrades to infrastructure. The project retrofits transportation infrastructure to be more resilient against snow, rain, and floods by elevating roads and upgrading stormwater management systems.
