BACKGROUND
Increased climate risks like heat waves, flooding, and wildfire damage have necessitated investments in resilient transportation infrastructure. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) with input from local municipalities and climate experts. The project enhances the resilience of transportation infrastructure to climate impacts, including flooding and heat and pioneering climate-resilient transportation infrastructure, focusing on mitigating flood and heat impacts statewide.
