NYC ANNOUNCES $150 MILLION FOR HUNTS POINT

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced a plan to fortify and enhance the region’s food supply network with “a major financial commitment that will make the site resilient and sustainable, improving New York’s readiness for natural disasters like Superstorm Sandy.” The news comes as the Hunts Point Lifelines project enters its first stages of implementation, and compliments its way of addressing resilience from multiple angles.

“It’s hard to overstate how important this facility is for our city,” said the Mayor.
