RESIST, DELAY, STORE, DISCHARGE, SEPTEMBER 2020 UPDATE

HOBOKEN – This month, the Hoboken City Council reviewed materials for a “change of purpose or use” for the Hudson River: Resist, Delay, Store, Discharge project – a comprehensive urban floodwater management strategy to reduce the flood risk from storm surge and rainfall flood events to flood-prone areas in Hoboken. The meeting also included general project updates, specific color and typology selections for the flood walls, designs for the “meadow,” and status of easement acquisitions. The City Council will vote on the use change in October. A contractor for the first phase of the project – the sewer separation modification – is expected to be awarded by NJDEP this fall.
