Hudson River Project Public Meeting

Thursday, October 25, 2018
7:00 p.m. - 9 p.m. Stevens Institute of Technology Bissinger Room, 4th Floor Wesley J. Howe Center
1 Castle Point Terrace, Hoboken, NJ 07030

Join the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for an Open House Event on the Rebuild by Design - Hudson River Project. This event will highlight design process materials focused on the alignment in the North end of the project area including the Weehawken Tie-in, through Harborside Park, to the termination on Washington St south of 14th St.

At this meeting you will also have an opportunity to get an inside look at the design process of the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design portions along the Resist Alignment; gain an understanding of the design concepts under consideration by the design team; and engage in discussions with members of the design team regarding questions about the materials and your thoughts about the direction of the design interventions in the northern design zones.

The Rebuild by Design - Hudson River Project is a comprehensive urban floodwater management strategy to reduce the flood risk from storm surge and rainfall flood events to flood prone areas within the Project Area, which comprises the entire City of Hoboken, and adjacent areas of Weehawken and Jersey City. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $230 million to the State of New Jersey for the Project, which includes the design and environmental impact analysis of the overall comprehensive master plan of the entire project (including the Resist and Delay, Store, Discharge components) and funding for the construction of the Resist components (coastal storm surge projects).

If you are unable to attend this Public Meeting, there are more opportunities to participate.  Please visit here for details on upcoming events and opportunities to participate. NJDEP will post a video recording of the October 25th Public Meeting that will be accessible on our website (Please allow 10-days for the recording and accompanying materials to be posted to the site).
